Brad Anderson - Mortgage Broker

My wife and I bought our first home back in 2016 and already had Brad Anderson in mind before we even started seriously looking into mortgages, purely because my sister-in-law had spoken so highly of him after dealing with him multiple times herself. We were both pretty overwhelmed by the whole process initially, but Brad immediately made things feel manageable. He has a very professional approach, but at the same time he is genuinely warm and easy to talk to, which made a huge difference when dealing with something as stressful and financially significant as buying your first home.

What stood out very quickly was how responsive he was. I can only assume Brad is an incredibly busy person, but he has always been remarkably quick to respond to emails and questions, even years later whenever we've refinanced or explored new options. He's also very good at explaining the ins and outs of mortgages, refinancing and loan structures in a way that actually makes sense to normal people rather than drowning you in jargon.

Over the years we've refinanced with Brad and his team multiple times and he also helped organise the mortgage and subsequent refinance for our second property. Every time, his attention to detail has been exceptional. He always takes the time to properly explain anything important, highlight potential considerations and make sure you actually understand what's happening rather than just signing paperwork blindly.

One thing that has always stuck with me was when he drove roughly 30km to our first apartment just to collect a wet signature because timing was tight (and probably because he understood we had a baby at this point). It honestly felt less like dealing with a broker and more like having a very knowledgeable friend helping us through the process. On another occasion he worked around difficult overseas time zones while we were travelling to make sure everything kept moving smoothly.

In terms of costs - None that ever felt 'apparent' - Mortgage brokers operate off commission on the lifetime of the loan I believe.

I honestly wouldn't use another mortgage broker at this point. I can't really speak for Mortgage Choice as a whole because Brad is the only person there I've dealt with directly, but from my perspective he's an enormous asset to the franchise and one of the few professionals I recommend to people without hesitation.
