My partner and I visited Osteria Oggi during the busy Adelaide Fringe season for a date night, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had.
Normally, we gravitate towards a quiet table tucked away in the corner, but this time we decided to try something different and sit at the bar. It ended up being the highlight of the night. Watching the bartenders effortlessly prepare cocktails, refill glasses and interact with guests added a whole new level to the experience. It felt immersive, entertaining and surprisingly intimate despite the restaurant being full.
The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what they do.
As for the food, it was absolutely outstanding. We ordered the carbonara, a pork pasta and the crispy potatoes, and every dish was exceptional. The pasta was so fresh that you could taste the difference immediately. Rich, flavourful and perfectly cooked. The crispy potatoes were also a standout and disappeared far too quickly.
Despite the Fringe crowds and the restaurant buzzing with energy, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy every moment of the evening. Hands down one of the best Italian dining experiences in Adelaide, and we’ll definitely be back.
