A trust worthy electrician (Jim)

We have known Jim for some years now. He is from Taiwan. In university, he studied engineering but along the way, he became an electrician.

The last work he did for us was to replace/install the new cooktop. The old cook top was wired with a power plug. He recommended us to hardwire the new cooktop instead.

There was this one time with Jimmy that I remember. At the time, we had to replace two  lights. Jimmy helped us with the light in the kitchen. It was a tricky one because he had to turn and adjust the light to make it look "balance". And to make sure the new base of the light covered the hole left by the old light. We had another electrician to drop by a few weeks later to replace another light. He just installed it quickly and left and did not take much care at all.

Other times, Jimmy helped us to re-locate the NBN cable from one side of the house to another. He had to run the new cable through the roof space. He also helped us with the videocom/door bell.

Jim is one of the few tradesman that I would be comfortable with not asking for a quote upfront. He would just turn up and do the job. None of this call out fee + parts nonsense. He is knowledgeable. Offers good advice. He takes care with his work.

One thing to watch out is Jim is busy. Definitely need to contact in advance and he will find a time when he can drop by.
