Legend of Kitchen Soldier was a fun K-drama to watch.
A nice popcorn kind of K-drama. Nothing too heavy. Some funny moments. Enjoyable. The interesting twist was it was a combination of the anime Food Wars and Solo Levelling.
Rating on AsianWiki was 94 and domestic rating went up from 6% to 8%.
It passed the test of did I want to stay up and munch through more episodes. And it had some "teeth grinding" baddies too.
Concept was the classic of a new kid in a tough environment and by the end he saved the day. Just like Solo Levelling, he found himself the main character in a "cooking" RPG. It was hilarious about how bad the food at the army barrack was before the main character got better. He gradually levelled up. Gained friends and new party members. He was in a platoon with nice Sanpai characters and naturally some not so friendly foes, who he eventually be friended.
To be honest, the first two episodes were quite slow but it got better.
It was a comedy. Didn't try to be too serious, although there was a sub-plot of army corruption.
One K-drama to check out if you are looking for something light hearted.
Online... it is available on Rakuten Viki (Australia). It is not on Netflix. HBO Max or Disney+ elsewhere in Asia.
