I was travelling alone in my old Ford motorhome - had come from Brisbane, travelled around Tassie a fair bit & then ventured to Bruny Island. Had been there once before & loved it! So a couple of things - I was not flush with $$ - something had gone wrong with my shower & toilet in the motorhome & I could not use. Was getting desperate for a shower - pulled in to Adventure Bay Holiday Park & met lady owner. Explained I cld not afford to stay over but needed a shower - she said it was probably against the rules but allowed me all the same. Can't remember if she asked for a few $$ or not but..............what a beauty!
I had been staying overnight in the car park at Lunawanna Hall, 4585 Bruny Island Main Road - (no charge) went back there feeling refreshed & ready for another day. I was always looking for places where I could stay overnight without having to pay so............................. things may have changed since then - the hall was an old weatherboard type building with a large car park beside same.
To myself Bruny has a character all its own! Check out the pics of letterboxes. Also fridges - these are prob not running however would be great for delivery parcels to where letterboxes are not big enough.
Bruny is unique - make sure you have plenty of time to wander the island & explore. I would go visit again tomorrow if I had the $$$. Watch out for the white kangaroos!!
