Finally Fixed Our Leaky Skylights - Thanks Coastal Skylights!

After leaking skylights in a storm, I realised I urgently needed to repair my skylights. We had one old large well light with a prism cover in the kitchen and a solar tube in the hallway. Not only did the kitchen one start to leak, we also found it was terribly hot in summer here on the coast.

After researching a few companies, we came across Bodie and the team at Coastal Skylights. I requested a quote and they came out the same day, inspected the issues and suggested what we needed done. We had a quote by the next day.

The quote was very reasonable so we booked in and had the works scheduled to start in 2 weeks. They were busy due to local storm damage repairs, so we were thankful we could get booked in relatively quickly.

We opted for a Velux skylight in the kitchen with UV protection to cut out heat, along with a remote-controlled blind we can close in summer to keep the kitchen even cooler and adjust as needed. Best thing we ever paid for. The new light well and Velux really made my old kitchen look so modern and fresh.

They were tidy and clean, turned up on time, and were super friendly. We work from home with pets and kids, and they were totally understanding of that. We had the option for them to also paint, but due to our reno budget we opted to paint ourselves — so they left the plaster all sanded and ready for me to go once they'd finished. It was a three-day install: carpenters one day for framing and gyprock, plastering the next day, and then they came back for the final sand.

Such a great family business — I've recommended them to friends also in the area, as we all have older homes that need new skylights. Their advice and service from start to finish was so smooth. And they even offer a long warranty and call-out for any future issues which is a great feeling.
