Let's Build It Carpentry - Central Coast

We used Russ and the boys from Let's Build It Carpentry on the Central Coast, and honestly, they've become our go-to guys for anything carpentry related around the house.

A few years ago we had a granny flat built onto the house, but it didn't come with railings. With elderly parents living in there, safety was a big priority for us, so we asked Russ to build railings using post and wire to keep it see-through — we didn't want anything too bulky or closed in, just something that felt open while still being practical. It needed to be sturdy and at the right height for mum and dad to use confidently.

We also requested an additional step with a small rail to help them down safely. What he did was perfect. He used wood similar to the original decking to suit our budget at the time, with the plan that we'd stain it ourselves later to match — and it blended in beautifully once we did.

More recently, we got a large puppy and wanted to section off part of the yard to keep him contained and safe. I sent through a pretty rough, dodgy sketch of what I had in mind, and Russ translated it perfectly — steel posts, fencing and a gate for easy access, so we could close off the back yard exactly how we pictured it, without it looking like an afterthought.

We've now used Russ twice for very different jobs, and both times the experience has been fantastic. Quotes and site visits happen the same day you call, pricing is always reasonable and fair, and the whole crew are just a genuinely friendly bunch of tradies who turn up on time, get stuck in, and clean up properly at the end of each day — which makes a huge difference when you've got a household running around them.

Both jobs took about 2-3 days from start to finish, and were scheduled within about 2 weeks of booking, so they slot you into their schedule fairly quickly rather than leaving you waiting around for months.
