We visited the new fish market when it was first opened. Lucky we parked on the street and not having to pay for parking there.
To be honest, I wince whenever something is "renovated to be bigger and better". Inevitably, the old shops will be driven out or prices will be much higher than before. The Sydney Fish Market is no different. It is newer, brighter, and better in presentation. Seafood prices are much higher as well.
We had something and left soon after.
We accidentally stumbled across the Glebe Foreshore Walk because the start of the walk was right opposite the stairs of the Sydney Fish Market. Previously, with the old fish market site, we would just hurry to get to the car around the corner, rather than looking around.
It was a a relaxing discovery, walking along the Glebe Foreshore. The harbor view and the sea breeze were especially nice on the day. See the pics. The walk did not take that long. And there were some interesting buildings/houses along the walk. For instance, as we walked past the Glebe Rowing Club, it was interesting watching a boat being worked on/repaired.
After visiting the Sydney Fish Market, check out the foreshore walk !!! Walk off the seafood you have eaten and enjoy the majestic harbor view (without constantly checking the price tags) for free.
