Following the govt CGT change and the June (26) sell off, my view is the junior miners present prospective investment opportunities.
The challenge is many of these companies are not covered by analysts. In addition, as a retail investor, I don't have access to their research reports anyway.
Another challenge for retail investor like yours truly is how to get companies to answer any questions ? Otherwise, our best hope and prayer is just look at charts.
I went to the RIU Resources Conference in Sydney in May for the first time. I found the conference very useful.
It was over 3 days. Each company presented on stage for 15 mins. So think of it as a quick intro.
Importantly, each presenting company also had a stall in the venue. It was tremendous being able to talk to the representatives of companies in person. Many were friendly and happy to share insights.
To attend, I had to register in advance. Think I saw the ad of the conference online and signed up online. I did not have to pay to attend the conference in May.
Lunch and snacks were provided as well.
As a retail investor, the conferences organized by RIU can be useful and informative. RIU runs conferences in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast. It runs conferences for mining and technology companies. Worth signing up and see for yourself.
