The electricians I’d happily recommend to anyone – Aura Electrical Group
I’ve dealt with my fair share of tradies over the years, and there’s a big difference between someone who simply turns up, does the job and sends you a bill, and someone who makes you think, “Yep, I’m keeping their number.”
Josh and Jed from Aura Electrical Group are definitely the latter.
We originally contacted them because the exhaust fans in our bathroom and laundry had seen better days. They were noisy, not doing a particularly great job of clearing the moisture, and generally felt like they had reached the end of their life.
The bathroom fan in particular had become one of those annoying household jobs that you keep putting off. It still technically worked, so it was easy to think, “We’ll get around to it eventually.” But after dealing with the noise and moisture for long enough, we decided it was time to replace them properly.
Jed came out and replaced both the bathroom and laundry exhaust fans.
What I really appreciated was that he didn’t just treat it as a simple “rip the old one out and put the new one in” job. He took the time to look at what was already there, work out the best way to install the new fans and make sure everything was finished properly.
The difference was immediately noticeable.
The new bathroom fan is so much quieter, and you can actually feel that it is doing what an exhaust fan is supposed to do. The laundry is the same — rather than having an old, tired fan making a racket, we now have something that works efficiently without being intrusive.
And this is the part that made me want to recommend Josh and Jed.
There are plenty of electricians who can replace an exhaust fan. That’s not particularly difficult to find.
What is harder to find is a tradie who you feel comfortable having in your home, who takes pride in the little things, communicates properly and leaves you feeling like you got more than just the basic job done.
Josh and Jed were easy to deal with from the beginning. They were professional without being difficult, explained what they were doing, and didn’t make us feel like we were asking silly questions. Most importantly, they cared about how the finished job looked and worked — not just about getting in and getting out.
The total cost for replacing the two exhaust fans was $530.
For us, it was money well spent. The bathroom and laundry are noticeably better, and we now have an electrician we would genuinely call again rather than having to start the search for a tradie all over again.
I’ve already told friends and family that if they need an electrician, give Josh and Jed at Aura Electrical Group a call.
That’s probably the best recommendation I can give — they’re the kind of tradies whose number you actually want to save in your phone.
Before: Old, noisy bathroom and laundry exhaust fans that were past their best.
After: Two new, quieter and more effective exhaust fans that actually do the job properly.
