Teach You a Lesson is a fast paced K-drama. Only 10 episodes. Each episode is around one hour and each story line is concluded. There is a main plot line which finally got resolved in the last episode.
TYAL has an interesting premise. What if there is a government department with unlimited power that can resolve conflicts or issues within schools ?
The drama covers many issues facing kids and parents these days... Naturally, being a K-drama, bullying is a constant feature. Bullying can also be subtle i.e. borrowing the Netflix account or Wifi. There were also episodes on drugs and online gambling.
Another interesting observation from the series was maybe the parents or teachers were to blame. In one episode, the mother moved house in order to live in the better school district. Her ambition for the kid ended up with her getting ADHD drugs and turned her son into a drug addict. As we know, being adults, we are above reproach and blameless !!! Ha.
Maybe I am thinking too much into a Webtoon adapted K-drama. But I have to say the series touched on many hot button issues facing many parents with high school kids.
The show is rated 94 on Asianwiki. The lead antagonist was a real piece of work.
Overall, good entertainment, yet thought provoking. Maybe it is a K-drama that one can watch with teenage kids as well.
Highly recommended.
It is available on Netflix.
