K drama worth watching - Agent Kim Reactivated

This is quite rare for me. I finished this series (10 episodes) in 3 days.

The plot is the typical spy thriller. A former spy living a quiet life. His daughter thought he was just another quiet office worker, and a wimp at that. Did not stand up for her when she was bullied. Then his daughter disappeared. You can guess what happened next :)

It is a straight forward popcorn action K-drama, with a bit of comedic bent.

If there was intended to be any message in this K-drama, it was how his two friends (former colleagues) stood by him through the thick and thin. And how they were prepared to risk their live for each other.

The series was fast paced. Cliff hanger at the end of each episode. The first 4-5 episodes were tense (which I binged) when his daughter was in danger. And he was ever so close to finding her. For me, the second half of the series was less suspenseful once the daughter was rescued. The story then developed in a predictable manner.

The central baddie was despicable.

On Asianwiki, it is rated 94. The show was aired on SBS, alongside Netflix. It was a blockbuster in Korea, with rating consistently over 20%.
