We looked for more options and found another 2 or 3 plumbers to have a look.
Conor dropped by and offered to have another go at clearing the blocked pipe.
Having not seen how it is done before, I came to appreciate there are skills involved. Conor was guiding and pushing the water jet pipe like a cowboy with his lasso. At one point, he flushed dye down the toilet to observe the water flow.
After 2.5-3 hours, he finally cleared the pipe and the roots were flowing through.
Total cost came to around $600 vs. thousands if we were to dig up and replace the pipe. His starting hourly rate was also a bit cheaper (around $50 lower) than other plumbers who dropped by.
Conor came from the UK. He set up this business. And he has a few plumbers working for him. Conor is a plumber who knows his trade. A friendly guy to have a chat with as well.
