This is not a bad deal.
We recently bought a suit for our boy at Peter Jackson at Birkenhead Outlet.
The deal was OK... It was $500 for a merino wool suit with two pants.
To be honest, I am not sure whether Peter Jackson is a good brand at all. The suit seemed OK though. It was 100% merino wool (not wool blend). Alice thought the suit looked good. Our son has had another suit from the same brand for the past year. Still wearing/holding up well for an uni kid after a year.
Buying clothes at a discount in an outlet mall is not rocket science. I have had a look at the Peter Jackson website. Its full price suits go for $6-800. But the website has some suits discounted to $4-500.
Now this was my discovery. After our son tried it on, thought it was OK. I jokingly asked the sales guy if there could be any further discount.
To my surprise, he took another $50 off straight away.
So all up, $450 for a new suit with 2 pants. Not a bad deal at all, especially when everything else seems to have going up in price.
Also worth noting, it was an additional $25/alteration.
Plus the salesman at the store in Birkenhead is very good. He knows his suits and offered good advice. He looked at my son and knew the size straight away. OK for him to try on difference sizes.
For me, it was the extra $50 off plus the salesman there that warrants this recommendation. All up, $450 for a (pure wool) suit + 2 pants was the price 20-30 years ago. Ha.. Found something that prices haven't gone up - what a miracle.
