Looking to fix roof leak in Sydney - Gutter Torque (Peter)

There were several spots in the house with water stains. We were looking for a roofer to fix the leaks.

It is a single storey house so it is not that "scary".

We called around and got a few quotes. Remember we did not know where the leaks were....One quote was $165 for inspection only. Another quote was $600. One other quote was $400 for inspection + minor repair. Another roofer quoted $300-600. 2 roofers declined to quote and would only quote when they have seen the house.

Late in the day, got an email from Peter saying he was in the area. Had a quick chat on the phone. He actually said he would not charge to go up and inspect the roof. We arranged to meet around 5pm (after he finished his other work nearby).

He climbed up on the roof. Asked us where the leaks were. He walked up and down the roof, from the front to the back of the house. Inspected different areas. After he climbed down, he moved the ladder to the back and checked the level of the gutter as well. When he was up on the roof, he took some pictures of the different crooked tiles. Afterwards, he went inside the house and looked at each water stain. He came across as detailed. Knew his stuff.

As we had some spare tiles, he quoted us $200 to replace the crooked tiles straight away, and silicon another loose spot.

Towards the end, he spotted another 2 crooked tiles. He told us about them and asked us to pass him another 2 tiles. He just replaced them. No fuss.

He is an Australian. A nice bloke to have a chat with actually. Found out he has been a roofer for 10 years. Once he slipped from the ladder and fall down from the roof he was working on. He has the reflex of a cat seemingly..... He was straight forward to deal with. Didn't play games or scare monger like some other folks.

He fixes leaks.... He also does gutter + new roof as well.

If looking for a roofer in Sydney, worthwhile to get in touch with Peter. A good bloke all round. Someone who takes care in his work.
