Petrol price has been expensive for a while now. I had been thinking of writing up this list of resources for Sydney-siders but thought maybe it is too common a knowledge. Yesterday I found the last piece of infinity stone (4 cents discount), to rounds up all the majors. Hopefully it will help you find cheap fuel close to home/ work/ anywhere.
For the Best Price Right Now:
Step (1) Go to "NSW Fuel Check" App, and set your favourite fuel type. It gives you the price of every petrol station nearby. Toggle between "LIST" and "MAP" format, by clicking the top left hand corner, to find the cheaper fuel
Step (2) Mentally adjust the current price of the majors by using the following formula:
BP - less 4 cents/Litre discount, if you have AGL account and linked BPme App
Shell (Reddy) - less 4 cents/L discount, if you have Coles voucher (with every docket after every shop of $30 or more). Note Shell (OTR) do not accept 4 cent voucher
Ampol - less 4 cents/L discount, if you have Woolworths voucher, everyday reward card, Woolworth Rewards app (with every shop of $30 or more)
7-Eleven - less 6 cents/L, if you have Wilson Parking App
To Have a Cheap Price Up Your Sleeve:
Say you regularly drive past a 7-11 bowser with lower price, or want to lock in a price before an upcoming price rise (e.g. government removing fuel excise subsidy), My 7-Eleven App offers a useful fuel lock feature that potentially allows you to save up to 25 cents per litre.
How Fuel Price Lock Works
Duration: Lock in your chosen fuel price for up to 7 days.
Volume Limit: Valid for a single fill-up of up to 150 litres.
Discount Limit: Maximum savings capped at 25 cents per litre.
Redemption: Open the My 7-Eleven app and scan your My Card (or use Pay & Go) at any participating 7-Eleven fuel station before you pay.
Automatic Pricing: If the store's pump price is lower than your locked price on the day you fill up, the lower pump price applies automatically.
Note however that you can not use 7-11 Fuel Price Lock with Wilson Parking 6 cents/L discount at the same time.
Now you have access to cheaper fuel, maybe it is worth reading my other article about how you can help Australian manufacturing industry by buying E-10 fuel instead of Premium 95 or 98.
