Cheap hair cut in Sydney (CCN Hair Salon in Burwood)

These days, a hair cut (for men) in the city in Sydney can cost $30-40.

In my decades on the planet, I really can't tell if a barber has done a good job. To be honest, I have never been to those fancy places ever. What I know is hair will grow back. Thus, any disaster will be eventually averted soon enough.

Hair cut (for me) is something I would look to drive the cost down if I can.

CCN Hair Salon is the typical Asian hair cut place with the aunties. It has been in Burwood a long time. It was on the Burwood main street before moving to Burwood Plaza a few years ago.

Burwood plaza is like 3 mins walk from the Burwood station (the shopping centre where Woolly is). So access is easy.

I took the picture of the price list in April. Starting price  is $15 for men. My usual instruction has always been just cut it short and make my hair tidy (No.3). Nothing fancy. The aunties just got the hair cut done.

Interestingly, walking around Burwood, there are many barbers that are much more expensive than CCN. Personally, I don't understand why would people pay a big premium for hair cut when a much cheaper place is nearby. What do I know ?

OK... CCN may not be the cheapest barber I have come across in Sydney. The cheapest barber I have seen is in Granville (close to the station)... A few $ cheaper but that was 2 years ago.

The good thing about CCN is it is in the heart of Burwood. After the hair cut, we would just walk around and find places to eat.

Now one more rant.... There is supposedly this cheap barber near UTS (between the tunnel from Central Station to UTS). The sign outside the shop was "from $18" when I walked by 2 weeks ago. As it turned out, $18 was only for the buzz cut. A "normal" cut would be $25. So maybe worth confirming the price before subjecting oneself to the chop.
